Everett is located just to the north of the communities of Mukilteo and Mill Creek and was established in 1891 as John D. Rockefeller's "New York City of the West". Everett, WA, is nestled on Port Gardner Bay, in the coastal foothills of the Olympic Mountain range; it serves as Snohomish County's largest city and seat of county government. You'll find reminders of its rich history, literally at "every turn" of our city streets named for its early developers: Rockefeller, Wetmore, Colby, and Hewitt.
The fully restored Monte Cristo Hotel offers meeting rooms and conference facilities, but is better known for its permanent display of spectacular glass art from the nearby Pilchuck Glass School, founded by World-famous glass artist Dale Chihuly.
With over 30 parks and various recreation activities including, golf, tennis, swimming, and hiking, and miles of coastal shoreline, there is plenty of outdoor entertainment for everyone! Enjoy shopping in the unique and trendy shops of Downtown Everett, dining at nearby restaurants, tasting the fresh hops of our local microbrewery, and visit our Farmers Market for the freshest local produce you can find in season (May 31 - Sept 27, 2009)!
Everett Wa is also home to the Boeing 777 assembly plant and the Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour, as well as the US Navy's Everett Naval Station.
